What is a full academic year class?
I plan on majoring in science education then going to med school and entering the physician assistant program.
But the PA program's prerequisites include a "full academic year" of chemistry and biology.
I'll have more than 10 credits for each, but the classes I'll take will only be one semester long. I've never heard of a "full academic year" class.
What does that mean?
All the other prerequisites are semester long classes.
You are confusing the term full academic year of chemistry of chemistry and biology with biology and chemistry classes.
What the requirement is saying is that you must have taken a year of biology and a year of chemistry - i.e., 2 semester classes in each subject.
Now, many schools have classes that build on each other - for instance, my son is currently taking a class called Astronomy 161, and second semester he will take Astronomy 162. The second class has a prerequisite of the first, so that at the end of this school year, he will have a full academic year of Astronomy.
