This is my first time writing a cover letter. Please let me know if there is anything wrong.

I do not have any accounting work experience, so I am willing to start at entry level. I have the basic accounting knowledge, and I can’t wait to start doing accounting for a living.

Your information goes under your signature with typed name, not on top. The first line is always today's date.

Make sure you double space between the salutation line and your first sentence. I suggest:

I am applying for an entry-level accounting position with a (n educational institution; business environment; etc.). Recently, I graduated from college and have basic accounting knowledge.

I look forward to working as an accountant for a living, as I enjoy this field tremendously. The accounting software I have used includes: Peachtree, QuickBooks, and Excel. I am familar with Windows 2000, Word, and other software programs.

It is with pleasure that I look forward to hearing from you regarding my job prospects. Thank you in advance for your time and efforts on my behalf.
