What is the Best Operating System?

Windows XP (version 1.0, 2.0, 3.0, 95, 98, Me, Home, Professional)
Windows Vista (version Basic, Home Premium, Business, Ultimate)
Windows 7 (version Ultimate)
Macintosh/Mac OS X (version 10.5)
Linux

Your preference is actually the deciding factor. While as they say more apps are written fore windows Vista has its problems continuously. And XP is No longer supported. So you will have to pay for Windows 7 and then pay for everything that goes in it. like buying a car and finding out you have to fix its transmission before you leave the dealer.I did it.same thing ,. and expensive.I have both Linux and windows. On Linux, If you learn how, you can run any program whatsoever, from any vendor. Not being able to use some app because your system doesn't support it is incorrect. There are ways to run anything on anything.You just have to jump through Hoops to do it.Windows is very Susceptible to attack. as in Hackers and thieves. primarily because it is the most popular.Linux is or can be virtually impenetrable depending on how far you want to go.You can run a windows setup environment inside of a Linux environment. keeping the windows system unreachable by Hackers . I have never tried Mac but it has Multimedia setups in it built in. Linux does as well. Vista has problems with the Media interface and the 3D interfaces. I am trying to do 3D development,mind you I am not an expert but some things they say you can do I cannot. I have a Quad Core computer as well. So there is no excuse as to why that is.for 3D movies and video and such the Linux environment is more clear than the Windows. Continuous problems with My Windows system. Linux finds its own drivers and setup . there are many different types of Linux OS so you would have to check them out. I would say If you have little experience and don't want to spend 6 months trying to figure out how to run everything you better pay the big Money and join the addicts to Windows. keep in mind you will be vulnerable . when you run Windows your Info is an Open Book. It has Holes deep in the system . and the Hackers know it. I have a website and I am constantly under attack. My windows system even with Kazpersky I am realizing I shouldn't keep my personal records on it.If you use Facebook ,Twitter, or any of the social networks including the Mobile stuff you are wide open ,. Your ports in your computer are open to incoming transmission easily . Hackers know this too.So. If Novice and don't want to learn get windows or Mac , If want to be serious Get Linux and get the others later and put them behind it for protection. Be Careful . Hope this Helps you good luck!
