Boot Repair Any

formatted hard drive on a Toshiba Laptop & need to boot it back up-I bought a laptop repair disk -not booting?

I get the message no system disk replace and hit any key. When trying to boot I hit the f1 key-f10 key nothing works. It is a Tecra 510CDT with 32512KB Copyright 1997, 98 Toshiba Corp
I have windows 98 os as well as 98 se updates- the boot disk is from CYTECHNET and is Toshibal Laptop Repair CD. I tried everyting and can not get into the BIOS settings to change to boot to the cd drive-no matter what disk I put in it starts and then tells me invalid system disk- I formated the hard drive I know a dumb thing to do but I had no other choice as the person who gave me the laptop deleted many of the files and the computer would just sit there and not respond to any commands-Do I just hang the laptop on my wall as a wall hanging? I have seen lots of hard drives hanging on walls at computer repair shops as wall decor.

Well, you need some type of boot-up disk if you've formatted your hard drive. If you're installing Win XP or something from CD, that'll probably do. Put the CD in prior to boot up. It's possible you don't have the CD booting up before the hard drive, in which case you won't be able to boot from the CD. If that's the case, you'll need to reset your boot priority in the BIOS. Ask another question if you don't know how to do that.
